Furoshiki; History's First ReUsable Bag.

Japanese culture is rich in meaning and understanding.

In Japan life is art.

Furo (Bath) Shiki (Spread)

This square piece of cloth was introduced in the 1300s in Japan.
It was originally used to store personal belongings while at the public baths.
It them evolved into a whole art. It is compared to origami due to the use of folds, yet it has knots and it is not paper, but textiles.

It is used to transport almost anything from bottles to groceries, as well as to wrap gifts and offerings, which culturally translate in respect, dignity and being well educated.

For modern society, Furoshiki is the most practical reusable bag.  You need minimum storage; it can be folded to fit anywhere (handbag, pocket, glove compartment), it is adaptable to whatever you wish to carry/transport/wrap, and it is good to the environment.
